EMS-121X Full Range

Description
The EMS-121X is the latest version of the EMS-121, and like its predecessor has been designed to function in any situation ranging from 'stand alone' to small clusters with low frequency support i.e. for theatre/AV work. Careful driver design and enclosure venting provides a useful amount of low frequency information without compromising the fidelity of the sound produced and resorting to a one note 'boom-box' characteristic.

Simple and elegant
The EMS-121X is a passive enclosure and therefore does not require a controller. At EM Acoustics we believe it is possible to build passive loudspeakers without compromising sonic quality. Extensive crossover R&D has led to an enclosure that is remarkably free from time-smearing often associated with passive enclosures.
Construction
The CNC-machined enclosure is manufactured from 15mm multi-laminate Finnish birch ply, and contains a high-power 12" vented neodymium LF driver and a 1" exit neodymium compression driver. The EMS-121 is available in 80°H x 60°V HF dispersion.
Standard features and rigging
Include a 35mm pole mount, ten M10 rigging points for suspension (either via forged shoulder eyebolts or using the optional FC-121X horizontal or vertical flying cradles), flush handles and dual Neutrik Speakon™ NL4 connectors. The enclosure is finished in black semi-matt textured paint (colours optional) and the front is protected by a hex-punched steel grille backed by acoustically transparent black foam.

EMS-115 compact subwoofer

Description

The EMS-115 is a compact yet powerful active single 15" low frequency enclosure designed to complement the smaller full range products in the EMS series - brought about by requests from our customers for a subwoofer with more power than an i-8, but less physical size than its bigger brother, the EMS-215. The quasi-bandpass vented enclosure provides excellent transient response and low frequency reproduction without the aid of corrective equalisation. Ergonomic handle placement and enclosure balancing make the EMS-115 quick and easy for one person to move.

Simple and elegant

The EMS-115 is an active enclosure and requires a low-pass active crossover. The enclosure comes complete with a single pole mount fitting, allowing for easy combination with the smaller full range boxes in the EMS series.  LF extension has been deliberately reduced to help with low frequency noise transmission issues in many of today's installation projects.

Construction

The CNC-machined enclosure is manufactured from 18mm multi-laminate Finnish birch ply, and contains a single high-power 15" LF driver in a vented chamber.

Standard features and rigging

Include one 35mm pole mount, fixing points for optional castors, and flush routed handles are supplied on the sides. Four non-slip rubber feet are mounted on the bottom, and recesses for stacking are provided on the top.  Connectivity is via dual Neutrik Speakon™ NL4 connectors (different connectivity available on request), which are situated on an angled panel at the rear of the enclosure.  This hidden panel keeps the connectors and cables hidden, allowing the EMS-115 to be situated directly against a wall for installations. The enclosure is finished in black semi-matt textured paint (colours optional) and the front is protected by a hex-punched steel grille backed with acoustically transparent black foam.

EMS-81X Full Range

Description

The EMS-81X is the latest incarnation of the EMS-81 - the first EMS loudspeaker released. Multi-purpose is the design intent - consequently the EMS-81X is ideal for theatres, corporate & A/V, nightclub or café infills as well as small-scale front-of-house. The quasi-trapezoid enclosure means it can be used as a compact floor monitor for ultimate flexibility.

“Opera buffs and the musicians themselves often hate the idea of sound reinforcement, so we must be doing something right when they come out with smiles on their faces, singing the tunes happily to themselves...”

Ian McDonald - BBC Consultant and owner of Ivysound

Simple and elegant

The EMS-81X is a passive enclosure and does not require a controller. At EM Acoustics we believe it is possible to build passive loudspeakers without compromising sonic quality. Extensive crossover R&D has led to an enclosure that is remarkably free of the time-smearing often associated with passive enclosures.

Construction

The CNC-machined enclosure is manufactured from 15mm (5/8") multi-laminate Finnish birch ply, and contains a high-power 8" vented neodymium LF driver and a 1" exit neodymium compression driver on a rotatable 90H x 60V horn.

Standard features and rigging

EMS-61 Full Range

Description

The EMS-61 is one of the smallest enclosure in the EMS Series, created to answer a demand from our customers for an enclosure smaller than the workhorse EMS-81 yet with more power and a wider dispersion than the compact i-2 front fill.

Simple and elegant

The EMS-61 is a passive enclosure and does not require a controller. At EM Acoustics we believe it is possible to build passive loudspeakers without compromising sonic quality. Extensive crossover R&D has led to an enclosure that is remarkably free of the time-smearing often associated with passive enclosures, resulting in a very natural frequency response, as well as an apparent "throw" not normal for an enclosure of this size.

Construction

The CNC-machined enclosure is manufactured from 12mm (1/2") multi-laminate Finnish birch ply, rebated, pinned & glued together for maximum strength.

Standard features and rigging

Include five M8 exposed-thread rigging points for suspension (either via forged shoulder eyebolts or using the optional YK-61 horizontal or vertical flying yokes), four M6 internal suspension points for installation hardware, and dual Neutrik Speakon™ NL4 connectors. The enclosure is finished in black semi-matt textured paint (colours optional) and the front is protected by a hex-punched steel grille, backed with acoustically-transparent black foam.

DSM 26 Loudspeaker Management System

The G9 DSM-26 Digital Speaker Management System has been designed to give all the features and control that you need for setting up and running a sound system. Whether it is a fixed installation, or for use on the road the DSM-26 can handle all requirements for the management of a 2 input / 6 output audio system.

The system is based on a sampling frequency 24bit, 64KHz delta - sigma A/D and D/A converter, with a 32 bit floating point DSP for the signal processing. Operation is through connection to a Windows based computer (Windows 98 or above) via a USB 2 interface. There are 2 x analogue XLR input channels (IN1 + IN2), plus a balanced stereo jack connection. You can also Mono the input stages (IN1+IN2). On each of the two channels of the input stage you can select; DELAY, PEQ, GAIN and MUTE characteristics. You can then route these signals to the 6 outputs of A, B, C, D, E and F in a variety of combinations. After the source selection has been made linking input signal to the chosen outputs, you can then introduce DELAY, select crossover points with the Hi Pass and Low Pass filters choosing Butterworth, Bessel or Linkwitz Riley filter characteristics. Parametric EQ can also added, as well as GAIN, LIMITER settings and of course MUTE for each output channel.
The DSM 26 has 50 memories that are set up by using an external computer via USB. Once saved to a DSM memory you can recall the memory number from the front panel and the unit will operate without computer link. There are six LED indicators on each Input and Output channel showing audio signal status, as well as MUTE with LED ON indicator. The Master display section indicates the PROGRAM selected along with the memory number currently loaded and Output MUTES will appear according to program selected settings. Audio gain is shown on each channel from - 40dB to clipping and there is also an indicator on each output for LIMITER activation.

G-218B Bass Cabinet

The G-218B is a powerful dual 18” Quasi-bandpass subwoofer, built to be perfect partner for the full-range “G” Series cabinets and in particular the G-15. The G-218B extends the system low frequencies to 35Hz giving a great bass “feel” as well as the all important bass extension to the audio system. With two drivers loading into each other, it creates a single outlet for bass response, adding a small amount of compression that improves both impact and clarity. The forced cancellation gives a dynamic and fast response to bass frequencies, making the G-218B a big sounding and very musical subwoofer.

The G-218B contains 2 x cast chassis drivers for optimum strength and performance. The cabinet is made of 18mm Baltic plywood, rebated, screwed and glued that gives enormous strength and makes the most of bass pressure sound integrity. As standard there are 16 x M8 threaded points for adding castors where they might be required, 3 x 35mm pole mounts and the cabinet is sprayed with a strong textured protective black paint for true resilience. The G-218B is fitted with 2 x Speakon NL4MP recessed connectors.
The G-218B Subwoofer makes the most of its design in giving bass extension to the full-range “G” Series cabinets in a most complete way. The dual driver, Quasi-bandpass design couples the energy and delivers it in the most efficient way. While the build quality and integrity of using 18mm Baltic Birch plywood, rebated screwed and glued joints, ensure that all the powerful bass frequency pressure gets harnessed for use. There are 3 x pole mounts and 16 x M8 positions for adding castors if required.
The G-218B is a great match for the G-15, or indeed for any “G” range system that requires good quality, clear and powerful bass sound pressure levels down to 35Hz. A perfect choice as part of a system for Live venues, Clubs and pubs as well as Theatre use.

G-212B Bass Cabinet

The G-212B bass cabinet is a “Series Tuned” band-pass design, consisting of two powerful high excursion, 12” drive units. The G-212B provides sub-bass for G Series full-range enclosures, in particular the G-6, G-8, and G-12 models. The G212B is equipped to be used in passive mode, or with a bypass using a toggle switch selection.

When placed in passive mode the output speaker link should be used to connect straight into the cabinet, thus providing bass extension and reducing need for additional amplifier channels. Even though the G212B is modest in size the cabinet design, results in high efficiency in the pass band, and will generate high definition bass energy regardless of its position in the room. Cabinet stacking and positioning will further enhance the bass coupling effect.
The G-212B contains 2 x cast chassis drivers for optimum strength and performance. The cabinet is made of 18mm Baltic plywood, rebated, screwed and glued that gives enormous strength and makes the most of bass pressure sound integrity. As standard there are 16 x M8 threaded points for adding castors where they might be required, 1 x 35mm pole mounts and the cabinet is sprayed with a strong textured protective black paint for true resilience. The G-212B is fitted with Speakon NL4MP inputs, plus link connectors are provided on the rear panel plate along with the passive/active toggle switch.
The G-212B Subwoofer makes the most of its design in giving bass extension to the smaller full-range “G” Series cabinets in a most complete way. The dual driver, “Series Tuned” band-pass design, allows enormous flexibility with its passive option, giving you both choice and efficiency in the range where you might need it most. While the build quality and integrity of using 18mm Baltic Birch plywood, rebated screwed and glued joints, ensure that all of the bass frequency pressure gets harnessed for use. There is 1 x pole mounts and 16 x M8 positions for adding castors if required.
The G-212B is a great match for any of the “G” Series range, where a compact and efficient subwoofer is required for a system needing quality and clear bass sound pressure levels down to 39Hz. A perfect choice as part of a system for Live venues, Clubs and pubs, as well as small Theatre use.
